Hardware Setup

Learn how to setup your computer to transfer video footage (also known as video capture) from your analog or Mini DV camera.

Video Capture

Before you can edit your videos, you need to transfer the video footage from your video camera into your computer. You've learn about important settings and options for high quality outputs versus optimal video file size.

Scene Scanning

In this video tutorial, we show you how to scan your video first before capturing. We show you how to obtain a thumbnail view of your footage and perform capture of specific portions of your footage instead of the entire video tape.

Trimming Clips

The Edit section is the heart of VideoStudio. This is where you create tell your story through your video. A storyboard is a visual representation of your movie. The edit section is also where you trim and split your video clips, apply fade effects to your audio, get creative with slow motion and perform multi-trims.

In this video, we show you the basics of manipulating video clips such as trimming from the front, back and the middle. The advanced topic of multi-trim is also covered.

Ripple Editing

Ripple editing is one of the core skills you'll need to effectively edit your video productions. Ripple editing is a great way to edit your videos when you have a busy timeline. In this video tutorial, we show you how to keep your timeline in synch when you modify or move the in and out points of a clip. We show you how to shift all clips in unison while modifying a given clip to keep the VideoStudio Project in Synch.

Correcting Color and Brightness

In this video tutorial, we show you how to fix minor problems in your video. Many times we shoot video in poor lighting conditions. This effects video quality and the video often has poor colors and appears too bright or too dull.

Foreign Language Subtitles

VideoStudio 11 has added additional support for non-English subtitles. There is a subtle difference between titles and subtitles. Titles are used in many creative ways such as the the main title of a movie, and the opening and closing credits etc.Titles can also vary in size, color, animation effects and so on. Subtitles - on the other hand - are slightly different in that they are mainly used to provide a transcript of the ensuing dialogs in the movie. Subtitles always have a consistent look and appear at the bottom of the screen. In this video tutorial, we show you how to create a movie with Foreign Language Subtitles.

Title Effect 1 - Falling Letters
